The ease of use when working with the Ellebag has meant we save time in our planting process and never need to worry anymore about disposing of plastic trays/pots/bags anymore.

Alistair Hardy, Director
Over the last three years I have planted at least 40,000 native trees and shrubs, starting with trees in plastic pots and PB’S (Plastic bags).
These plants brought with them transport logistical’ problems, they were heavy brittle and got damaged allot and created a pile of rubbish that was not environmentally friendly which would blow round our planting site before we could deal with it on planting days.
With the traditionally cultivated and potted plants like these, our largest cost was freight labour to site (added 25% to plant cost.) and planting (added 100% to planting cost.) and weed releasing labour was high due to root damage at planting and labour quality at planting, requiring an extra weed release over the whole native block. (a large cost)
Then in the last 15 months a real Game Changer or epiphany happened called the ELLEBAG.
This system was picked up and run with by WaiNot Nursery.
The plant pot is fully biodegradable NO RUBBISH, with labour and environmental savings.
These can be planted with a spade the traditional method, or I personally cheated and used a battery drill and an auger to bore the holes. This in its self was a significant cost/labour saving and we where able to lift daily planting volumes another cost saving.
The plants grew that much better and faster some of the native shrubs grew did not require releasing, another significant cost saving. I personally liked the added option of a fertilizer tablet placed beside the tree in the hole not below to promote growth and help towards no expensive releasing.
This system enables you to get more plants in the ground with a better survival rate and significant cost savings.
